Testicular pain and Infertility

Approximately a third of infertile men have varicoceles. A varicocele is a blood vessel (vein) in the scrotum that has become backed up and engorged – think of it as bad plumbing. Patients usually feel the varicocele as pain in the testicle, and it is not uncommon for varicoceles to also cause infertility or a lump on one of the testicles. Varicoceles are frequently diagnosed during an ultrasound of the affected testicle.
